Cheek Augmentation is performed to improve
the prominence of the cheekbones and to create facial feature
harmony after a trauma or to enhance genetically smaller cheekbones.

The procedure is performed to correct asymmetries and congenital
defects (underdeveloped cheekbones). This is accomplished
by the surgical implantation of a pliable synthetic implant
that varies in size and shape for each patient's face. Your
surgeon usually inserts cheek implant through an incision
in the mouth and placed directly on the cheekbone.
Surgical Procedure
Cheek augmentations are generally completed
utilizing an implantation, various sizes and thickness of
implants are available to fit individual differences and desires.
The approach is usually through the mouth so no skin incisions
are necessary. Rarely are implants placed through a lower
eyelid incision. The implants are placed through a tunnel,
into a pocket under the soft tissues, and immediately overlying
the cheek bones.
When cheek implants are being placed in conjunction with another
cosmetic procedure, such as a facelift, forehead lift or eyelid
surgery, the implants may be inserted through the incisions
made for those procedures. Otherwise, an incision will be
made either inside your upper lip or your lower eyelid. A
pocket is then formed and an implant is inserted.

After Care
After surgery, a dressing will be applied
to minimize discomfort and swelling. A special mouth

Recovery Period
You need to stay in Bangkok at least 5 days
for post operative care.
Post Operative Care
Your plastic surgeon will provide you with
instructions about postoperative care. There will be dietary
restrictions as well as limitations to your activities. However,
you should be aware that your ability to move your mouth and
lips may be diminished temporarily. Stitches used to close
the incisions inside your mouth usually dissolve within 10
days.
