Adam’s Apple Contouring (Trachea Shaving)
USD 700
Adam's Apple Shaving is an adjunctive procedure to remove the lump in the anterior portion of the neck which is a physical trait associated with the male gender. This relatively simple procedure will leave a small horizontal scar on the throat.
Surgical Procedure
The incision is usually 2 to 3 cm in length at the highest crease in the skin on the neck. The thyroid cartilage is reduced by carving at the most prominent area and the rim of its superior border.
Results
The results of this operation are a long-lasting appearance and a smoother and more feminine neck. This relatively procedure will leave a small horizontal scar on the throat
Possible Risks
There is a risk of shaving too much cartilage and affecting the vocal chords that lie just behind the trachea. It is important to reduce the cartilage only enough to reduce the prominence and not over-resection. Taking it too deep may injure the vocal cord and it is likely that your voice will permanently change.
Side Effects
There may be a little discomfort and swelling after the operation. Few patients may have mild voice weakness in the first few days, but it will be only temporary.
Recovery Period
You need to stay in Bangkok 3-5 days for post operative care. The recovery time takes at least 3 days. You can go back to work within a week.
Post Operative Care
You should avoid using your voice in shouting and singing for two weeks after surgery. You should keep the wound dry for at least 48 hours.
